page 219   Elbert Co., Ga.: 2 Jan 1816, Joshua Clark, sheriff of Elbert Co., to Joseph Vinyard of Madison Co. Whereas an execution issued out of Justice’s Court (wherein John McCurdy, Esq. now resides) in favor of Haynes & Kealing against Benja. Hale for $10.30 besides interest and cost, levied by the constable and returned to R. Middleton, then sheriff of Elbert Co., on 155 acres, property of Benja. Hale; after being advertised, sold on 7 Nov 1804 to Joseph Vinyard, the highest bidder, for $7.25. Title executed by Joshua Clark, Shff. on 7 Nov 1815, in which deed Haynes & Kealing were stated as the defendants, but they are the plaintiffs and the said Benja. page 230   William Lokey and Peter Smith on 27 Aug 1814 conveyed to me 100 acres, reserving 1 acre not to include any of the improvements adj. the Mineral Springs on said tract; and whereas said William and Peter have conveyed to Thomas Terrell and John Terrell 1 acre including a house near said spring lately occupied by John Davenport, Esq. I fully approve and confirm said conveyance and for $6 discharge said William and Peter from all convents and responsibilities arising out of said conveyance in regard to the laying out of said lot as far as respects the inclusion of buildings and other improvements. 13 Jul 1813. page 236  Madison Co., Ga.: 2 Nov 1815, James Wood, admin. of the estate of John Wood, late of Elbert Co., dec’d, to William Power of Madison Co. Whereas an order of the Inferior Court of Elbert Co. dated 17 Jul 1810 was obtained for the sale of the real estate of said John Wood, dec’d, which consisted of 105 acres lying at that time in Elbert Co., now Madison, on the waters of Fork Creek adj. James Pearson, John Pryor and others, being the balance of a 255 acre tract orig. granted to Joseph Long, out of which 150 acres is this day conveyed to John Pryor in the west end of said survey. The sale [of the 105 acres] having been advertised, was sold on 6 Nov 1810 at the courthouse to William Power, the highest bidder, for $100, agreeable to the original lines and the dividing line between that and the 150 acres conveyed to John Pryor.
